As I celebrate my 58th birthday today, I realize what it means to live life. Sometimes it is about change, sometimes big changes, sometimes small. So here are 2 changes that are in the works for me:
1) I am heading to a protein diet. The big change in this for me will be to eliminate cereal from my diet. Too many carbs. Although all of us are different there seems to be those that respond to insulin and those that do not. I am a do not. From extensive testing on myself I have come to the conclusion that my body cannot use the insulin it produces or the insulin that I inject. The next try from the Dr. is the pump. so if my body cannot use insuling, then I need to severely cut my carbs, so that is where I am headed.

2) I have only tried this for a week and have been very happy with the results, not having to take any sinus meds all week, even though my truck is covered with yellow pollen each morning. My brother told me about this.
Each time you come in from the outside, WASH YOUR FACE. Why? Pollen sticks to your skin & your nose, keeping you ripe for the allergies to kick in. I cannot believe the difference it has made.

Best to all of you, Jim

Happy Birthday, Jim. Hope you continue to see improvement with lower carb eating.
Maybe the better pollen control will help, too. I'm in the middle of major sinus season right now and my numbers are a little higher than I like :( I need to rinse off my face and exposed skin to keep the symptoms down. Of course having a few warm sunny bee friendly days in March started it a little early. I was fine until I spent time standing in the middle of some Quince bushes.

A high protein meal plan sounds good for you. You might want to look over the meal plan with which I have had success. Look at it here ~ I pray it might be helpful to you.

Oh and take a look in your inbox for a birthday card. I just turned 60 in Feb of this yr. I wish you many happy returns!

Blessings, Jim
