For several months now my left foot & lower leg varies from slightly swollen to extremely swollen & from slightly red to flame red. My doctor says there's nothing more she can do for me in the way of treatment. There is no pain associated with this condition.
I get worried, though, when my foot swells. I have support stockings that I wear & helps some with the swelling.

Echo the get a 2nd opinion. Swelling causes damage and can be a symptom of bad things happening with your body. I didn't feel much pain at first when my legs swelled due to bad veins in my legs messing up my circulation. The awful pain came later. My Dad had trouble getting Drs to take his leg swelling issues seiously until too much damage was done. Lucky for me they were more aware by the time my veins went bad.
Is the compression strong enough on your stockings? Or, is it possible they need replaced. Mine are supposed to last 6 months. But it seems some brands need replaced a bit sooner.

Time for a second opinion
Research what types of Doctors treat this
So you go to the right one
Look to see if any local doctors have written any articles on it
You may need to travel to someone who does know how to treat you

If my car shop does not know how to fix my brakes
doesn't mean I accept that and keep going to them
I have to find someone who does specialize in brakes
and you do too!
