My wife and her daughter went to Walgreen's this evening, and there was a display of pedometers for only a penny. The young lady working there said that sh wasn't sure exactly what it all was, but she thought that at the register they could ring it up and you get it free.

The lady at the register didn't know what they were, what it was all about - apparently it was a brand new thing. But the other girl showed her a code to scan, and sure enough, they were all free.

It's a very simple step counter - the really cheap kind, but it also comes with a free "backpack". One of the nylon bags with drawstrings.

Anyway, just wanted to share.

So the .01 penny pedometer is legit.. Walgreens & Celebrity Apprentice have teamed up forthis thing called "Walgreens way to well.

Its a walking program- with it comes a .01 digital pedometer and a satchel type backpack for carrying water, snacks etc..

Pretty darn cool! I am not advertising or promoting the site, but if you want t check it out, browse over to Walgreens.com/walk

You have to sign up to get into the site.. its so far pretty cool..

Thanks Walgreens!

I know 1 penny is nothing, but it actually should be free. They have a bar code at the register that they should be able to scan and it takes off the penny.

Seriously, I know it's just a penny. I'm obsessed with coupons, double coupons, coupon combos, and register rewards, so one more cent of savings could be the difference between "saved 59%" and "saved 60%"!

Pop over to walgreens.com/walk and check out the program / sign up. And there is a message board where the Walgreen's reps reply often. It's a FREE OFFER. Have them call the manager up if they need to.

Unless you're holding up the line for a penny. Then suck it up and pay the penny. :)

Thanks for the share! its essential for anyone to get outside and exercise, but vital to a diabetic! I will have to go and see what this is all about. I have a Walgreens 5 mins away.
