I clicked on a video about a book, "30 Day Diabetes Cure" by Dr Ripich and searched the discussions here to find only ONE pertinent discussion on the thread:

That was a year ago. Tell me, have any of you tried the "cure" and what are your opinions?

Any successes or failures on this "cure" worth sharing with us from our active community here on

I am unwilling to pay $87.00 (book plus shipping) for yet another empty promise. One would think there would be more than 19 customer reviews on Amazon if this were either a working plan or scam.

Opinions? Experiences???

I started the book 11 days ago! I've lost 9 lbs. my blood sugar has went from 280-400 to around 120-250 in just that much time. I have been diagnosed with type 2 but NEVER taken meds! I chose not to for certain reasons. This book has really opened my eyes. I have not cheated and don't intend to! I've tried most everything and nothing worked! But this is a different story! I'm sooooo happy!

I am thinking of buying this book, a friend lent it to me. What are your thoughts.. I am a type 1 by the way, but it had some neat information, and seems to be very current. It had information about barriatric surgery, which I am forced to consider. Did anyone end up liking it or find it useful?

Hey Ray. Almost forgot, my mom came over this morning with a copy of The Cure and a copy of the Special Reports. Haven't even thumbed through it yet but I will. Have you been reading yours? What do you think about it?

Hi Ya … I am still reading "Diabetes Without Drugs" and fascinated by it. I am making frantic notes. Here's the thing … I am taking many of the vitamins already and I don't know if it's those things that are keeping me under control but I went from a 6.7 to 6.4 a1c. Hmmm… coincidence??? I surely won't cut out what I have been doing and now thinking about slowing adding new things.

I hear you. Besides, if you do too much too quick, how will you know what's working? I'll keep you posted if I make any headway with The 30 Day D Cure. Take care.

I think you've answered your own question here. With the over half a million members here, and nearly another half million I've seen across other similar boards, you'd think there'd be a huge rush to get this book. Or at least someone here trying it and reporting results. It may have a few good points or even some solid groundwork toward control, but if it were true, you and I wouldn't be talking.
I think you might have better results (though not a cure) with the book Suziegirl has been praising "Diabetes without Drugs by Suzi Cohen" (and others I could recommend), but then like so many of our conversation here of late, we need to define "cure".

I did read this book 30 day diabtes cure, and was impressed with allot of the information, however as Nick states, the Suzie Cohen book worked the best for me. I never started taking the medications, because they scared me more than the disease. I guess I made a brave decision, but it was worth it. Seeing a registered nutritionist and the book Diabetes without drugs worked so well for me. My A1c was 10.4 and went to 5.9 in three months. Now it is currently at 5.5. I am very pleased, but there are many diets changes that work for many people. Type 2 is the easiest to control, however it does take allot of dedication and work. I wish everyone could dedicate themselves to controlling this disease, but you can only give advice as to what has worked for you. I carry a torch for this disease, and only because I believe we wouldn't see as much of it, if it weren't for the hidden sugars and additives in our foods. Our children are in trouble if we don't fight back and demand better food sources. Just adding Aloe Vera juice to my daily regiment has greatly improved my A1C. For the past 2 weeks I don't even see BS reading in the a.m. over 90. I'll take the 80's. I really believe the Aloe Vera Juice did this for me. I buy Georges Aloe Vera Juice at my local health food market. It is a truely amazing liquid. No taste at all. Just like water. Type 2's who take medicatiions should always test frequently when they add a new suppliment. That is the only way you can report the lower numbers to your doctor and cut back on medications. It took about 1 week to see a gradual decline in BFS. This information and good sources to take are in the Book Diabetes without Drugs by Suzi Cohen. I do not recieve any royalties for promoting this book. Wish I did. I would just like as many people with diabetes to get well faster. I don't know if there is a real cure, but I do know with the proper diet and staying with it comfortably for the rest of your days is a cure. I will find out as the years go by.
Wishing you all the best

I started reading the book last night and was hooked on it a lot of stuff I already knew about like the bleaching etc but not about the poison that it brings with it. I am writing things down as I read them so that I know what supplements to buy. I have an open mind and am willing to try anything to control my diabetes without taking all the medication that goes with it. So if I can reduce then stop the meds and insulin that has to be the biggest bonus for me. Thanks for putting me onto it Sandra.

I found Suzy's book listed at my library and ordered it. Hope to have impressive a1c reductions like yours. I'll keep you posted. Thank you to all for participating in this discussion.
