I try to eat every 3 to 4 hours that keeps my bg from going to low or to high but if i go to my Sisters for dinner and she says we will eat @ 6pm i try to make adjustments so i am in that 3or 4 hour window .There are times when the meal is not ready till 7 pm and that can put me outside my window.
I will usually have a snack too hold me over till dinner time but when you planned to eat at a certain time and the host is running late and you tell them you need to eat Pronto they look at you like you have a 3rd eye thats going to pop out the middle of your head. This is not a new thing so i guess make sure you have an emergecy food kit…Ok i feel better for venting Roar !

Any number of things can happen when cooking a meal at home which could cause the meal to be served at a later time. The same is true for restaurants even if you have a reservation.

A hostess trying to get dinner on the table isn't always going to take kindly to the fact that someone needs to eat. This is why you carry snacks even if you are going to a restaurant. If you are handy in the kitchen, next time ask your sister if you can help and have a fun time spending time with her. She just might appreciate the help and not look at you like you have a third eye.

That's pretty much my plan too. Constant feeding to keep a good level and avoid dips and spikes. An hour or two won't effect you much if it only happens now and then. With the right breakfast, I've made it up to 10 hours with no significant change on just a bag of peanuts. But i know what you mean, we made reservations at a favorite restaraunt, and I hadn't eaten properly all day due to anticipation, but they were behind by a good hour. I usually snack about an hour prior just in case, and if things are on time, I usually don't eat as much or overindulge. I've usually always got a bag of peanuts on hand in my car too.
