thanks a mill guys for your replies!

for some reason i was under the impression that there were a huge variety of pumps available in the states! There is currently only 3 pumps available in Ireland!!! we are so behinde its frightning.

The T:slim is pretty neat iswell which doesnt seem to make an appearance on either of the lists but it was just newly approved by the FDA!!!

Thanks again!

Perhaps that "being behind" could be due to 2 different things:

#1, the size of our respective countries, the number of People with diabetes (PWDs) in the respective countries.
#2 the fact that we DON'T have universal health care here. Universal healthcare may sound good in theory, but in practice it causes delays in getting services, and de-facto rationing of healthcare. That is part of what the current healthcare battle is all about here in the USA.

yeah you right!!! i have to admit though, the idea of having to pay for my pump and its supplies by myself scares the hell outta me, i think id probably switch back to the pens if it came to that!!!!

Howdy Roshy! to answer your last question first and the answer is "not yet". It is in the developmental and testing stages so is not readily available to the general public, See this report here ~ and the forum discussion here ~,

To answer your first question I send you to this article here ~ According to this there are 6 manufacturers who make insulin pumps. Some have multiple lines of pumps, other mfgrs produce only 1.
