Hi, all. I'm very happy to report that after trying many, many diets and other things, including suggestions, of course, on this site, I have finally found something that not only is naturally reducing my blood sugar but is also making it easy — yes, that's what I said — to lose weight.
I accidentally came across something called the "food combining" theory in doing research on diabetes and immediately ordered at my local bookstore the book called "Fit for Life" by Harvey & Marilyn Diamond (Wellness Central) - Copyright 1985 by Harvey & Marilyn Diamond. And believe me it was well worth the money (about $20) because it actually works.
This book outlines the principles of food combining. From a scientific angle, I don't understand how it works. All I do know is that I've already lost 5 pounds in 10 days and my BS reading is down from over 300 to 129 this morning. I'm not taking the pills any more, but I am taking 10 units of insulin daily (rather than the 30 to 40 units previously).
One of the main things about this diet is that things that we in the USA take for "normal" is not recommended, suchas "meat and potatoes". On this diet, if you want meat, eat it with veggies; and if you want potatoes, eat them with veggies, too.
Like I said, I don't know how it works but it's working and that's all I care about.
