A very important question concerning your health...

A simple "Yes" or "No" will suffice for this discussion, no other input is necessary.

To both respect, and to protect the privacy of anyone who may decide to participate in this discussion, I encourage members to use the "Anonymous" option if they choose to do so.

What I would like to know is this, "Do you have health insurance?"

Remember, "Yes" or "No", nothing else!

No, as a diabetic we get free prescriptions and all medication regardless of whether it is for diabetes or another illness. I live in the UK and we have the NHS (National Health Service) When working we pay taxes and NI (National Insurance) which is supposed to cover you but it also pays for non-diabetic pensioners whether retired from work or still working, as well as the unemployed, long term sick and illegal immigrants.

My severance package ends along with my insurance. I then can go in unemployment which will be about a thousand a month. Cobra for my insurance is $600. Its not possible as I am single to pay for that

When it goes to Cobra look into the Health Coverage Tax Credit. It's the only thing that has saved my sanity. Without it I would have to pay over 1400 a month. With it it's "only 400" So look into it. You only have to pay a percentage of the premium.

This discussion was started after I posted this one:

Just out of curiousity because (in my opinion) it is a very touchy subject.

There is nothing sinister behind the question asked in this discussion, this is not "The Inquisition" (*), you will not be punished for your answer, or for participating in this discussion, participation was optional, it was just a question!

Notice that "I" provided the first answer!
No one will knock on your door, report you to any type of agency, intercept your mail or hijack your browser, I was just curious considering the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court was reviewing the legality of the U.S. Universal Healthcare Law.

No polls, no surveys, no fact finding, no spying, just a question, a simple "yes" or "no" with the option to either participate, or not, to be seen or to cloak yourself under the "anonymous" feature.

As a "very proud" tax paying American, and also as a "Human Being" I respect everyone's right to privacy, so be assured that this discussion is completely harmless, participation is (in a word) "optional."

I hope that this may answer any questions that anyone may have.

Maybe you should have quoted the discussion before this one and then just said you were taking a poll to see how many members were insured or not and trying to associate it with the previous discussion. Asking if one is insured and then expecting a yes or no answer is not a discussion. I think it would save the confussion:>

Yes, why do you ask this question?

MAYS 2012-03-29 10:06:29 -0500 Report

It's just a question, there is nothing attached to it, that is why I recommended that participants in this discussion use the "Anonymous" option if they wanted to conceal their identity.

If there was an issue, or a violation of this site's (or community) policies, I am sure that I would have been notified, be assured that this discussion is completely harmless.

Didn't mind answering it, just wanted to know what personal purpose it served in you even asking it. Your heading said "very important question concerning your health," so I'm wondering what is so important about it?
It's like saying, "hey how much do you make" or "do you have sex", if no good explaination is given as to why anyone would even ask it:)

I understand, I did not take it personally, I respect everyone's right to question my intentions, be assured it's completely harmless.
