I'm putting together a power point slide show to be shown at the Philly WDD event. It's just something that's going to repeatedly scroll through the day so there's something visual in the area where they're doing various screenings - BG, cholesterol, BP, etc.

I'm collecting photographs from people that show diabetes in some way, so if anyone has any they wouldn't mind if I used, that would be super helpful. I'm also looking for quotes about diabetes - the hardest thing, the scariest thing, what it means to you, what it means to your family, how it's most affected you, what about it brings you hope, etc - just one or two statements, not entire paragraphs because it'll only be on the screen briefly as the slides scroll through.

I would really appreciate any contributions. I'm not using this to sell or market anything. It's purely an artistic contribution to raise awareness during the WDD event. if you have any questions about it, please ask. I was only invited to do this today which is why there's not a lot of time for me to assemble this, so if you'd like to help, I would need whatever you're willing to contribute asap. Like I said, it can just be a statement. If you have a photo that illustrates diabetes in some way (or more than one), please send it to leeann at thebutttercompartment dot com

I hope it's OK that I posted this.
Thank you!!

diabetics are the only people who take drugs to keep from getting high. I saw that on a t-shirt, thought it was pretty funny..

I forget where I heard this but it is so true.
"You know you are diabetic when carbs becomes considered as a controlled substance."

If anyone could help me with the quotes part of this, I would really appreciate it. I'm hoping to have about 100 slides, and so far, I only have 2 quotes.

What does diabetes meant to you, your family, how has it affected you, etc.? Thanks!

Sure, it's more than OK, Lee Ann. I like the quote that Scott Johnson always references:

"Diabetes is like being expected to play the piano with one
hand while juggling items with another hand, all while
balancing with deftness and dexterity on a tightrope"
-- Marlene Less, 1983
