I am getting very excited!
This Saturday, March 17, I am driving to LA to attend the ADA Diabetes Expo.
My husband is going with me to learn more ways he can support me. I am going to soak up as much info as I can.
I figure the more info I can get in this fight the better. This is my first time going to anything like this and am very much looking forward to it!

Sorry I haven't posted an update, but this week has been very trying.
We didn't make it to the ADA Diabetes Expo last Saturday.
Last Saturday CA was hit with a pretty intense storm and unfortunately we were driving thru it going to the expo. Our truck hit deep standing water on the highway at the same time we were hit by a very strong gust of wind causing the truck to spin out of control. We did 2 360 degree spins and then hit the guardrail several times while doing 2 more 360 degree spins.
Our beautiful truck was totaled and all we wanted to do after that was go home.
We have spent this week dealing with the insurance company and getting another pick-up.
Thankfully, none of us were injured, just shook up and sore.
So I am sorry I can't share any info about the expo with everyone. :-(

Sounds like a terrible experience, and marvel that you are all safe.

glad you're all okay. totaling a car is not fun. don't forget to file the accident with dmv, remember any damage over $500.00 regardless of fault must be reported. so please avoid the hassles and send in the info. been retired 2 yrs now from dmv so can't remember the downside to not reportring, just remember it's a unnecessary hassle that doesn't need to be added on with everything you already are dealing with.

Thank you for the heads up. So far our insurance has been great handling everything for us.
I just sent them an email this AM regarding whether we had to notify DMV that the truck has been signed over to them and they answered in just a few minutes that they had already notified them.
I will definetly notify them of the accident, again thank you for the tip.

hi deanag. if you signed the pink slip over to your insurance company, a "release of liability" is needed for dmv. this form can be downloaded from the dmv.ca.gov site. i wouldn't trust anyone other than myself to turn in that particular form. if they did do it, great, but to be sure do one yourself; it never hurts and that way you know it was done. most of the time insurance companies and car dealers wait to turn it in until they're ready to junk the vehicle or sell it outright.

How exciting, we do need an update, just a mini in-service will do, LOL! Have fun, enjoy and you probably don't have to stress about diabetic friendly foods!
