Here's a product review of the new Telcare meter from a great diabetes blogger.

Sara explains: This meter is different from most blood glucose meters in that it is a cellular-enabled glucose meter. The meter wirelessly transmits all blood glucose readings to an individual’s MyTelcare.com account …

She goes on to note things she likes and doesn't like about the meter, including it's very small blood sample size, it's accuracy, and the big bright screen.

I encourage you to check it out. Kind of an interesting new meter.

will the insurance cover it and the strips? My insurance recently changed. There are certain types ( Bayer and Contour) that they will pay for and the strips are free. Won't pay for anything else and you know how expensive the strips are.

i have only changed 1meter battery in my 17 yrs with diabetes, perhaps a total of maybe $10.00. Rechargable batteries eventually have to be changed. Usually rechargables are expensive. I am not really all that impressed with rechargables batts.
