Has anyone heard of this new group, Divabetics? Here is the link: http://www.divabetic.org/

It was started to help women managing diabetes, find support, and be passionate about life. Is anyone a member? I wish that we had a club in Boston…I'm considering finding out how to get one. Is anyone interested?

Here's the link to my interview at WDAS-FM promoting the Divabetic Club meeting in Philadelphia. This interactive, upbeat educational program helps participants journey from diagnosis to diva with the help of friendly educators, fitness trainers and fashion and beauty experts: http://youtu.be/qlsqDVYdDtY

Thanks Joyce! I'm so glad that you wrote to them. I'm thinking that maybe we could start something over at the Joslin Center in Boston. Maybe I'll write to them too. Thanks again for sharing!

Here is the reply from Divabetics:

Hi Joyce,

Thank you for your interested in our diva brand of diabetes outreach. Right now, we don't offer a Divabetic Club in Baltimore. Traditionally, this a free outreach program for patients that is funded by local healthcare centers and/or grants. We present Divabetic Club in association with local healthcare centers so that we can have healthcare professional on site to answer questions and/or concerns from participants. If you know of any medical centers (hospitals or diabetes centers) in your area, I will gladly contact them about Divabetic programming opportunities.

By the way, would you be interested in being a guest on our Diva TalkRadio program? We host a free monthly podcast on the second Tuesday of each month, 6 - 6:30 PM, EST. To participate you just have to call in to our studio line on your phone. I'd love represent Baltimore on the program. You can listen to Diva TalkRadio on our website at www.divabetic.org or get free downloads on i-Tunes.

Best,
Max
