If you don't have it, this is a wake up call to change! If you have it, accept it and take the beast by the horns and make the changes necessary to control it. I didn't until it got out of control and for some things to late, now I'm doing fire control to prevent some problems from progressing. Good luck!
good answer Armourer!
I was diagnosed bout month ago and everyone was so sympathetic. I have taken the bull by the horns and changed my lifestyle, diet, personal trainer. In a weird way I'm almost glad I got it cause it has brought on a new me. I already have way more energy, eating better, losing weight and have actually started to enjoy working out. It's all how u pose yourself. Good luck.
Way to go, Big Joe!!!! I also feel that I am healthier now than I have been in decades.
That is such a positive way to feel about yourself and your diagnosis. This is just great!
Just waiting to hear from you Madinga. Hugs
Howdy Madinga!
Do you have diabetes or is it merely a possibility at this point?
Madinga, there is no need to fear becoming a diabetic. Do a lot of research on how to prevent it or to control it. Once you become better informed it won't be so scary. I have been a diabetic for 36 years and take reasonably good care of it but I have renewed my commitment to becoming healthier. It is just a part of me like my green eyes, I need to protect them every day and become adept at keep being healthy, the same with diabetes, A big Hug, Hope this helps. I have never been really denied anything because of my disease, I don't treat it as an illness, while I was young I had a very rewarding career and never missed work because of my diabetes!
It is a scary thing…but not without hope
My grandpa lived till he was 88 as a Diabetic
I am one year into it.

We will all do our best to help you
Let us know…we are all waiting to hear and to help
It's alright to be afraid. This is something that will be with you for a lifetime but it can be controlled. But my questions to you are, given your discussion title, are you now a diabetic? If not, then what are you doing to avoid it? You may be giving yourself undue stress for no reason. What symptoms are you experiencing? Because having symptoms of being diabetic doesn't mean you are diabetic.
She is seeing the doctor on Tuesday and having blood work done then.

Why do I feel like my world is crashing down! Sometimes I wish I could just run on front a truck! A moving one at that!!!
I don't really like this but I can understand how you feel… and you will feel differently when you get support here and become more educated on how to take care of your self. Never over look diet and exercise!
I have had some symptoms of becoming a diabetic but I'll be sure on Tuesday after I go to the doctor and do some blood work but most likely I am diabetic and that scares me like wow!!!
It doesn't have to be all bad. It gave me the jolt I needed to quit smoking and lose 30 pounds. I'm probably healthier now than I've been in years. Think of it as an opportunity to deal with things you may have been putting off. Whatever you do, don't try to ignore it.
That's exactly what happened to me. Sounds kinda weird, but I'm healthier with diabetes than without.
I agree Nick! The dagnosis probably saved my life.
Funny how that works huh Jeanae? I sit back now and look at how enriched my life has become. Maybe it would have happened anyway, but for the life of me I can't figure out how.
I fee the same way, Nick. "One day I'm going to eat better and exercise more" was always on my lips and in my mind, but I always put it off for whatever reason. But D has left me with no other choice and not more excuses. Just the kick in the pants I needed.
Yup, same thing. Always an excuse not to start something. But isn't that the way things seem to happen? Bad things happen to make good things?
