Frequently, we talk about what keeps our BG readings down. This quiz tests how much you know about some of the nutritional ways to moderate high BG readings. Lots of those mentioned in the quiz have featured in recent discussions. Check out which ones studies show actually work and which ones aren't statistically verifiable.

I eat lots of spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and turnips. The peas are actually higher on the glycemic index, closer to corn and potatoes, so may cause some increase in your BG.

Howdy again, Glycemic Index is all well and good as a starting point, but since each person's metabolism reacts differently to the same foods, I can eat something and it will not spike me, but if you eat the same quantity of it, it may spike you. I have developed a method for determining how to find out which foods "play nice" with my metabolism and which don't. I'd be willing to share that with you should you request it.

We're just talking about it as a general guide, James. It helps point the way so that we know what's probably a good choice, then we test the probables. I wish there was a way for you to post that so newer folks could find it easily. Have you ever used it as the basis of a discussion?

usually the veggie can be found in a market which caters to Asian popullations. The Bitter melon capsule may be found in a health food store.

Did pretty good. Only missed 3. Would definitely have missed the last question had I not been following the discussion about it around the end of last year.

I was interested to see that we had talked about all of these and some others over the course of the last few months.
