I'm just curious of how anyone found out about this place… I was on other site and d/c actually offers points if I signed in. Never got my points but I'm so glad I did… It gave me more tools on controlling my d. So, how did you came to this place?

I specifically searched for an online community for Diabetes.
I was diagnosed 2/16/2011 and I knew I needed help
And help I did get, along with friends and family!!!

Really? Do you remember what was said or was it just a snippet or a recommendation?

Just a brief feature ending in recommendation as a new resource for diabetics, more then a snippet or 30 sec. byte.

I'm with you on that one. I don't know what I was doing online when I saw an offer for a free glucose monitor and filled out the blanks. I ended up at the d.c. website and, as the saying goes, the rest is history.

Was out of work and without insurance at the time, but never got the monitor. Another active online company called me a few days later and I got connected with them for supplies and that is working out well. So, totally an accident, but good experiences.

Last year in January 2011 A friend who had Sleep apnea and new I suffered from insomnia mention this site they joined. I took a look and joined it as well around 6 weeks down the line I clicked on "visit another community" and noticed diabetes connect as well as migraine and a few others pertaining to my health issues so steadily joined 5 sites.

I did a search on Google for diabetes and DC was one of the top links. I am so happy that I followed that link and found this wonderful site.

I had been experiencing scary morning low BG's and wound up in a hospital while on vacation in Idaho (I live in Florida). I stumbled across DC (I think in the Fall of 2010) looking for advice about those scary morning lows. It's a wonderful site and the only social network (other than some other Alliance Health communities) that I belong to. The support here is FANTASTIC!

I was looking to hear from people who were actively taking Metformin at the time. I'd heard about its side effects and complications from my doctor and D nurse and wanted to know how severe or intense they could be. After about 2 weeks I was hooked. After about a month I was logging in and posting just about every day.

I happened on DC as I was searching the web for some other info for my (now late) bride Jem. I checked it out and was hooked before long.

I searched for diabetic online groups the night I found out I was Diabetic.
I know I needed to learn quickly what to do and getting pills, a meter
and a watch your carbs was not going to cut it. So I purposed to find a place for help.
