I have been on my new lifestyle change to control my BG and I was doing awesome, I even lost 10 pounds since December 27,2011. I'm in a wheelchair So I think it's good that I'm still as to lose weight. To my point, the past few days I have been extremely hungry and can't seem to get full. I will eat my lunch and 15 minutes later my stomach is growling AGAIN!! I never had this happen until this week, please help me.

Thank y'all so much! I will try and take these suggestions and put them to good use. My BG levels are usually between 85 and sometimes on the rare occasion 115, this is without taking any meds at all. I make sure I eat my protein enriched foods first as I know they are most important.. I am on a blood thinner so I am limited on the veggies I can eat, have to watch the vitamin k I'm everything. I am very proud of my weight loss and I will continue. On another note, I got really sick, bronchitis and a really bad sinus infection,my doc had no choice but to give me a steroid shot, that did not help my BG levels as they were 158 an hour and half after I ate :-( hope these next few day pass fast as I hate the feeling of high BG levels.

If your stomach is growling after 15 mins of having food, it is not a hungry growl but your stomach digesting its food. Instead of eating anything else try having a cup of herba tea or warm water with lemon. fix it, sit and sip it and see when you are finished if you are really physically hungry or if it is something else. Congrats on the weight loss! Yeah!!! Keep it up! Good luck.

Maybe you need to eat more protein that will stick in your stomach as my grandma says… :-) Also try drinking some warm fluids like a tea or a broth. Find some things that address your cravings too. Why not have a sugar free pudding cup a little later or nosh on some carrots with Hummus.
I would make sure you have that protein, more fish, chicken, eggs etc…
Then drink that warm tea afterwards to fill up the cracks as I say… :-)

Congrats on trying , your weight loss and seeking more answers.
Thats fabulous!

This happens when I get stressed out or down in the dumps, which can lead to a vicious circle, eat because you feel low, then feel low because you ate

This happens to me sometimes when I am about to drop a few pounds. If I give in to it and eat more, I don't loose; if I hang in there until it goes away, I'l be several pounds lighter in a day or so.

Sometimes when I feel this way I check my diet. I usually eat lots of vegetables (low carb ones), protein, and fat. Sometimes I add a little more protein and find it stops the hunger. Last night I added about 1 tablespoon of quinoa to a stir fry I was fixing for myself. It helped curb the hunger without raising the BGs.

You will want to experiment with small modifications and see how they effect you. Yes, loosing weight while in a wheelchair with restricted motion is a BIG success. Congratulations!!!

This happens to me when I don't eat enough at mealtime. Fill up on your low carb, high fiber foods. Veggies are great. This seems to help, and the winter weather doesn't seem to help! Congrats on your recent weight loss!
