Welcome to DC! It takes some getting used to but it'll happen. Go slow, you don't have to learn it all overnight, but try to learn something new daily, weekly, whatever your pace is. And if you start to feel overwhelmed, talk to someone about it. Your doctor, family, a friend and of course, we're always listening.

Welcome. This community really helped me understand what my new reality is. I hope you find it as helpful as I have for the last two years.

Howdy Adria! WELCOME to DiabeticConnect!

Sorry you qualify to our little family, but since you do, I am glad you're here. This IHMO is the best site to learn about and receive emotional support for dealing with diabetes and its complications.

Read the "21 days guide", the "Living with diabetes" section (links on the left side) Read the "discussions" and anything else which strikes your fancy. There's a lot of content on this website. If any questions you have aren't answered to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to start another discussion. Questions are encoruaged here! I believe that here on DC there IS NO stupid, foolish or dumb question EXCEPT an HONEST question which is NOT ASKED! So asn away! You may be helping someone else who has the same or a similar questiion.

Blessings to you and yours Adria!

Welcome to the club, sorry you qualify… I was diagnosed in 1998 but I still remember the day it happened and how totally lost I felt at that time. This is a complex disease and you have time to get a handle on it, just ask all the questions you need to, and someone here will try to provide an answer. Good Luck!
