Welcome to DC Karyn! All of the silly differences that would separate us in the real world (for reasons of race, culture, status, etc.) are left at the door. All are welcome and accepted for the sake of promoting 3 key factors: diabetes awareness, support and control.

Welcome Karyn to DC! You just come right on in and feel like this is your second home ya hear? LOL Yet this is the best website for Diabetics I have found in five years or so. The warmth, the shoulders and hands that reach out dust you off and help you along the way. Tis great! There is only one word I can say that is significant…This is my Online Family the One I choose. Thank goodness since they put up with my silly self. Hugs

Welcome Karyn!! I joined this community because it seemed like a family and I knew I'd be comfortable sharing my fears, confusions and questions with everyone and am glad I did. You will learn so much here.

Howdy Karyn WELCOME to DiabeticConnect! Glad you're here!

We have people from all over the world posting here, some from as exotic places like Constantanople turkey, Egypt, down under in Tasmania, some from Ireland and scotland. Some even have tried from somewhere the Turkish language. (unfortunately he didn't get much of a response).

Blessings to you and yours, Karyn!

James Baker!

Nice to meet you too! I can help with that igloo - I'm originally from wisconsin and built a few myself. Not quite the great white north, but close.

It's worldwide, Karyn. The only issue I've seen is that those of us in the US use a different scale for testing and so our numbers sound really different when we are discussing BG levels. There is a conversion formula available so we can understand each other's numbers with a little extra effort.

KarynCandy29 2012-03-02 21:18:38 -0600 Report

Thank you Caroltoo, I'll be sure to remember that..I'll have to look for the conversion formula Thanks for letting me know~Nice to meet you!
