Weighed in at the doctors today. In the last 3 weeks I've lost 4.4 pounds. That's a total now of 42.5 pounds.
Got about another 30 pounds to go. I GOT THIS!!!!!

The truth is I've been doing the right things for years. It wasn't until I found a doctor that listened to me that things changed. See, 6 years ago I had a hysterectomy. My weight was good before that as i ate healthy with excellent portion control and exercised daily. I was pretty much out of commission for about 10 weeks after the surgery. Since I wasn't exercising or fixing my own meals I did begin to gain weight. I wasn't concerned because I assumed that once I was back to exercising and eating properly I'd get ride of that weight. I couldn't have been more wrong! I did go back to exercising and eating well but I just kept gaining weight! It continued until I'd gained 80 pounds. A couple of years later I was diagnosed with Type2. I've since been told that most likely I was diabetic before I even had they surgery. I kept trying to get help from my doctors and also a dietitian. They kept telling me i was doing so good even though I wasn't losing weight. I kept changing doctors but they all just looked at me like I was speaking some unknown language. Finally last summer I went to this doctor. On my first visit I brought up the weight issue. He was the first one to move away from the laptop and just listen to me. then he looked the the meds I was on. He made some changes. He took me off of a few, added metformin and also byetta. The first month on byetta was ay half dose so nothing else happened. The second month I was on full dose and FINALLY things began to change. Now I'm losing slowly, averaging just a tad over 6 pounds per month. That's okay. Every study since the beginning of time(well okay, maybe not the BEGINNING of time) has shown that slow and steady is how you keep it off. So while I'd love to be done needing to lose weight, I'm really great with the way it's going!!!!

I agree you can change up the exercise. Also perhaps while still eating healthy you can change what you eat. Hang on. It'll start dropping again.

Diabetes is just about the best diet motivator I've ever had. Congratulations, Cookie, you are doing so well. I've lost about 25 pounds in the past three months but I seem to have hit a wall. I haven't lost or gained in almost three weeks. Any ideas?

Also, we all hit a plateau for a short time before we start to lose weight again. Congrats on the 25 #'s!!!!

Change the exercise part a bit. Body gets used to what we are doing and needs a bit of a surprise.
