Howdy "Misty" WELCOME to DC!

I am wondering if you have your eating under control. I have been Dx'd with DMt2 for 16+ yrs now and not until last year did I finally get my eating under real good control. I have in the past year gotten off all diabetes meds, have maintained my Blood Glucose (BG) readings at or close to the "normal" range, have had no lows, my last A1c was 5.5, and I lost 65 lbs over the year I have followed this eating plan. You might be able to do it yourself if you are a T2 (your profile has no info so i cannot tell).

If you would like to see what I had done to get these results, all you need do is ask. I have started following you, please follow me back so I could send you an inbox message here with the particulars of my eating plan.

I pray that you get your BGs under control somehow, whether it is using my plan or some other suggestion made to you. I pray that your fear of your son finding you deceased may not happen for many, many years.

Praying God's richest blessings upon you and yours!

James

Hello
Talk to you Endo and ask for a pump this cut my insulin needs by 50%
I cut as huch carbs from what I eat as well and that didnt help till I got the pump
Best wishes

I had the same problem and then one day I decided to take control and stick to my diet and exercise more. I only test in the am and readings range from 85 to 140. I'm told this is not bad but I still want to stay at a lower reading. This D is something new to me because I'm a big eater and I eat candy like drinking water. We have to change our life styles and work hard at it. You have an 8 year old son and I have a 3 yr. old grandson and a 18 yr old granddaughter. I want to see both of them get older as you do with your son. Keep working at it and you will see things improve.

I am very brittle and my everyday range is 86-600—-I almost died from Metformin 6 years ago, and they had to give me insulin in the emergency room because my blood sugar went from 60 to 701, then it would not come down…I am very very worried that I am " trapped" in this cycle…my A1c is too low, BUT, my highs and my lows are seriously not normal…if you are taking a lot of insulin and pills with that kind of a range, this is SERIOUS…I'm not scolding you at all, just very very concerned. Even though I have had insulin only off and on, I feel TRAPPED, as in I have been trying to RAISE my A1c, but everytime I go up , I shoot STRAIGHT up very very very high. I was almost admitted for ketoacidosis 5 times in the last 5 years…they ran a test in 2009 and it showed I produce between 4% and 10% of my own insulin. I feel very fortunate that I do, BUT, at the same time, I wonder what is going to happen to me. I am 41 years old. How old are you? ANNE
