My husband suffers with Gout. As long as he eats a lot of green veggies it stays quiet. Since I was diagnosed with Diabetes we have been eating a lot more so it hasn't reared it's painful head. If he eats a lot of red meat without eating green veggies it gets very painful.

My room mate has it. Her flare UPS are from penuts, pork, and peas. Hard to belive. As they say we are what we eat.

Read the articles jayabee recommended and then experiment. I have gout but since I gave up eating red meat I have not had any flare ups. My friend has gout and her triggers are dark green veggies. My mother-in-law has gout and it is because of her meds. Good luck. Prayers for healing and no pain.

I am sorry you experience that. I understand it is painful. I think my younger brother said he had gout, but he or his wife hasn't said anything about it recently.

I looked it up online and Mayo clinic has a multi-page article about gout (aka Gouty Arthritis - you also might want to ask the folks at arthritis connect about it) From the brief abstract on Google about the article it says it covers what to eat. The Mayo Clinic article may be found here ~ http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/gout/DS00090

I pray this helps you in getting the relief you need.
