Today was the nine month visit with the eye doc to see how my retinopathy was doing. I'm happy to report that the eye disease hasn't progressed although there have been a few vein blowups but nothing that needs to be fixed. Actually he felt that my eyes have gotten a little better!

Now to see if switching to byetta will work for me or not. I'm taking a fairly high dose of insulin (humalog & lantus), this has had me gain from 30-40 pounds in the last six years. But I eat so little, and most times my portions are right, and I can't exercize so will it help? I don't know. In another week it is time to order insulin again and I don't want to expend the bucks it it is going to be changed.

Glad you have recieved good news on your retinopathy! Can you get a trial prescription for the Byetta? Sometimes when trying out a new medication a doctor will either give samples or coupons for some of the newer meds.
Good luck to you!

Congrats on the good eye news, I have vision problems as well, so excuse the poor spelling on any of my posts.

Good luck with the new drug.
