This was a very very very interesting article. It said that Metformin is the least likely to cause cancer. It said Glypicide related drugs and insulin are more likely. The article said they still have more research to do, though. Thank you…ANNE

My dad died of pancreatic cancer. He had been a diabetic for about 6 years or so. It is a quandary. I don't know what meds he was taking, but I would presume one was metformin. He died in 1997, so that was a while ago.

Hm that is a quandary. Yet who knows why? Well more than likely metformin was one of them. Thus this article was something I thought we needed to see and watch for in the future. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you find your way to a more positve place! I'm here along with many caring and supportive folks at DC. I am always willing to offer any support that I am capable of. By the way, thanks again for your posting here. I had a close call myself about 2 years ago. Thought I had pancreatic cancer, which has a way of causing your heart to sink all the way down to your left ankle. After an endoscopy and biopsy at Duke Hospital, no cancer was found. Just a pseudo cyst on my pancreas is what they discovered. Usually not serious, but it could be! I am still being watched by the docs at Duke because of my family history. I am going for another endoscopy and needle biopsy on the 20th. So, this is why I found your article so interesting!

I have said this before Knowledge not shared is a waste whereas shared it Pays it forward. For if you have knowledge dont share and die tis a waste whereas if you share it, tis not wasted and thus its passed on. Good Luck
