I dring 2 cups of black coffee in the morning but do not see any change in my b/s when I stopped drinking coffee for about a week. What does change my b/s is carbs. I keep track of the carbs I take in each day and noticed the lower the intake the lower the b/s. I guess certain people respond to certain foods and drinks differently so whatever helps you go for it.

The consumption of coffee is something which is something of a divide between people with diabetes. Some, like nick claim that it brings one's BGs down a bit, and then there are those who claim it has no effect on BG levels. Others, like me, it will raise our BG levels. So the subject of coffee drinking is not a one-size-fits-all thing. Our reactions to coffee, as to many other consumables, is very unique as far as its usefulness to us as individuals goes.

Jayabee52… Good point, also there are many contradictions with professional opinions and reports concerning coffee. Either way, I enjoy a fresh cup in the AM and get some benefits that I won't mention.

It brings me down a few points, but I had to seriously cut down for diet purposes. I was at least a pot/day coffee hog, now down to one cup a day, two on the weekends.

Can you copy the link URL that shows up in your tool bar area
when you are reading the article so we can read it too?

I sure do wish you success in getting your numbers righted!
Caffeine can affect the heart but I guess it all depends on the quantity
that one puts down in a day. I am a one cup person.
So for whatever reason you need to cut back
I wish you every success…Thanks for sharing!
