I had hernia surgery in July and it was too painful to eat 3 meals a day. I first tried Ensure which helped a bit then I discovered Glucerna Shakes made by Abbott Laboratories the makers of Ensure. I did so well with Glucerna as one meal replacement a day that I continued with it with my drs. approval. Many times I have to force myself to eat so you are not alone in that.

Wow… Thank you soooo much. It realy helps to know I am not alone. Everyone is so helpful. I was only diagnosed three months ago so I guess I am still in panic mode. Its amazing and scary how much diabeties affects me. I have looked at those Glucera shakes and would like to try but I want talk to Dr. first because I have more lows then highs. Usually I am hungry, now… lol. Not hungry… Have a great night! Thanks again.

What did you do? First - don't worry or become anxious…doesn't 'help.' Second only take the meds if you are going to eat in the next 1/2 hour after taking them to offset the drop in blood sugar by med use. If it were me, and I felt nausous, I would increase H 2 O intake, the higher sugar is like syrup in the system if not processed…thicker blood that doesn't move O2 or food that the cells need, I would hold off eating &/or exercise some until the levels were more normal @ 91-109; also anything over 150 bgl is causing some kind of damage somewhere, nerves, memories, heart, and or organs. Avoid this; okay level if right after eating example 156. I am not a medical professional or a dietician…just T2 like you…for about a year or so. Hope this helps, only responded as a guide…no one else was forth-coming at the time & I've been there many times.

Thank you!!!! I do appreciate you coming forward with advise. I tend to panic easy since I am so new to this. I was able to eat just some fruit and a little bread. Feel better!!
