Hi everyone. As some of you may know I am trying to get back on the track from the holiday season. I was eating way too many carbs and just generally misbehaving where my health is concerned. So I am finally back to low carbing and feeling quite a bit better. I've noticed a small thing that has happened. I was having a huge problem with my ankles swelling. They would be twice thir normal size by the end of the day. Since I've been eating less carbs I've noticed that my ankles almost never swell. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. I'm not complaining at all. I just wonder if it's just one of my own little quirks. I normally have very shapely ankles and legs for a woman of my size and age. I'm glad they are back…;o)

Hello MrsCDogg. No you're not the only one. My ankles always swell, and my feet too, when my levels start to rise out of control. I recently had a bout of misbehaving during the Christmas season and my birthday, and have just now started to see my levels getting back to normal. I've had to watch my ankle bones disappear into a swollen mass and reappear, time and time again. That's also an early warning sign for me, along with my meter readings, that I need to pay better attention to what I choose to my eating habits and exercise routine.

Hello Mrs C Dogg, yess I have that problem also when I eat more carbs and as Kim pointed out it is most likely the carbs. I also notice that if I exercise a bit more that helps keep the swelling down. I have gone from 3 lasix a day to only needing 1 on once in a great while.

Definitely, I've noticed the effect too. Fewer carbs and I feel so much healthier, start dropping weight again, ankles don't swell in evening, etc.
