Thought it sounded good. So, I am making it now. it has been in the slow cooker for about 20 minutes.
Takes 8 hours.
Gonna smell good in here.
Had to buy Sherry vinegar.
Now to make a nice loaf of bread to get it smelling really nice in here.

I have all my sensory glands
right there in your kitchen
There is something really nice about a man that cooks
using a stove and not just a BBQ pit
I really like that

I am waiting for my invitation. YUM...I have been cooking from our recipe section of late and finding some great ones myself. I just posted one for beef jerky yesterday. Oh it is so good, I can't keep my fingers out of the bag now. I love it because it is a low carb snack that I enjoy.

Well, c'mon and post that recipe! I'm a slow cooker, pressure cooker, wok and grill cooker and bread maker (the kind you choose carefully). I always enjoy a good recipe! Egg-em on Jayabee52!!!

When my wife walked in, returning from her work, she said it smelled delicious, but we had to go eat at our favorite restaurant, because the meat was not as tender as it should be.

The recipe looks delicious ! I happen to enjoy a good flank when prepared correctly and cut properly. I'm definitely going to use a piece of frozen flank that's in the freezer and try this recipe. I'll let you know the results, when I do. I'll probably use whole wheat tortillas instead of corn. Much appreciated ! I hope you and your wife enjoyed your dinner tonight.

This is the recipe. It smells good. It says to cook for 8 hours. Bread is done. I had to go eat at my favorite restaurant because I was hungry before it was done.

Fragrant Shredded Beef Stew

August 31 1,170 2

This stew has a simple list of ingredients, but plenty of great flavor thanks to flank steak, a cut that’s known for it’s excellent meaty flavor. The flank is also known for it’s long grainy, and sometimes tough texture. In this stew the texture is a great asset—the meat shreds apart into tasty strips after it’s cooked in the slow cooker.
Time: 510 minutes (25 minutes prep)
1 1/2 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup sherry vinegar
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1 large onion, chopped
1 large red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
3 pounds flank steak, trimmed of fat, each steak cut into thirds
1/2 cup packed fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
1/2 cup chopped pickled jalapenos
10 corn tortillas, heated (see Tip)
Combine broth, vinegar, celery, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper in a 6-quart slow cooker. Add beef, submerging it by tucking the vegetables under, over and between the pieces.
Put the lid on and cook on low until the meat is fork-tender, about 8 hours.
Transfer the meat to a cutting board; let stand for 10 minutes. Shred the meat with 2 forks and return it to the slow cooker. Stir in cilantro. Garnish with jalapeno and serve warm tortillas on the side.
Tip: Wrap corn tortillas in foil and bake at 300°F until steaming, about 10 minutes.
If preparing ahead of time: Cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
