just wanted all my friends to know what is going on allways trust your instincts on what you feel is going on with your own body. As you all know i have had a swollen foot for a while my doctor says lose weight watch your sugar well it was beyond that and i knew something was wrong. i went to foot dr who said i had no pulse in feet and he thank god referred me to vascular dr for some testing. Long story short i have no vascualr disease arteries are fine. I have and open vein that needs to be closed surgically in my left leg that was causing the swelling my blood is not flowing properly because of insurance i will have to make appt for next month. I am not thrilled about surgery but at least i have an answer it will take 20 minutes in dr office i will be under local anesthesia i will be awake. Just want everyone to know again always trust your gut feelings if you are ill and your dr is not steering you in the right direction take care everyone, stay health <3 xoxxo maria

Happy to hear you got it taken care of. Just thinking of what could have happened scares me. My dr thankfully always checks the pulse on my feet, but then I do have circulation issues.

Hope your up and dancing soon:)

Glad you found the problem and the surgeon to fix it. Is the procedure a vein ablation? I had several veins ablated last year due to bad pumps, that caused major swelling. Or is it a different type of procedure?

That good news,is it day surgery? I just had a venous ultra sound, Monday for swollen legs. I was ordered by my Cardiologist. But my pulses are fine, but I also get cramps and numbness in them. I'll light a healing candle for you, just let me know when it is.
take care

That’s great Maria how’s the swelling doing? I got my results from the venous ultra sound,
Both of my saphenous vein have stretched so much that the valves will not close all the way, that's why I'm swelling. So I'm trying compression knee high stockings for at least 90 days and see if that helps. If not I'll be having the same procedure as you, but on both legs. But so far the stockings are working. I give girls credit, if pantyhose are as hard to put on as these hose, god love you. It's one hell of a work out in the morning.

lol your funny about the stockings i still have swelling it has only been a day i am taking 600mg of mortin in the morning and before bed for that the dr said it will take a while before swelling goes down. the surgery wasn't bad its amazing technology today, you have to have someone drive you if you have it done they tell you to wear loose fit clothing i have gauze and an ace from my ankle up to my upper thigh.good luck to you i have to elevate my feet 15mins 3xs a day for the first week.

Glad to hear you are recovering so well from surgery. Hope you have some really good longterm results!

That's great; well you better take it easy. That takes the worry off of me if these compression hose don’t work. Thanks a lot for the information, you’re a doll………
Take care :-))))

Glad to hear you have found a solution. Sorry, it has to wait on insurance, but good to know it is there.

Thanks for the update. Well…now you know. Once again, good for you for getting (insisting) that referral. Yes, it is always best to trust your instincts and that nagging feeling you get. We all have it for a reason. Good luck with the surgery and take care of yourself until then.
