I am type 2 but I want to know why I am always hungry

I would have to ask you what you are eating and how much? Are you getting enough protein in each meal? Tell us more, perhaps describe what you eat in a day, so we can help you better!

I find that the more starchy carbs I eat the more I am hungry. If I stick to protein, and non starchy vegetables, and fat I do much better. My blood sugar is more stable and I need less insulin. Try staying away from bread, pasta, potatoes, sweets and stuff like that for a while. See if it keeps you feeling more satisfied. And make sure you get some fat in your diet too. It will also help you feel full.

If I eat too many carbs I am hungrier. Protein seems to keep away the hungry feeling longer. Plus eating smaller meals and frequent little snacks helps. The snacks can be handful of nuts or a piece of string cheese.

When I was first diagnosed with type 2 my friend told me that she found it helpful to eat a healthy snack two to 3 hours after a meal. It kept her from being hungry and also kept her b.s. at an even keel. Good luck!

You are going to have to change your diet and find food which do not spike your numbers but stay with you a little longer, most people figure an a light snack midway between meal to help carry you over.
