I broke my ankle in 4 places Dec. 28th. I have 3 pins and a plate. I am non-weight bearing for aat least 5 more weeks. I have 2 very nasty fracture blisters. Surgeon said they would heal nicely. My regular Dr. told me in the past if I had any cuts or sores on my feet I was to calll him immedieatly. I am in a hard cast so blisters can't be seen or treated. Is this bad?

Glad you checked with your regular Dr. After my problems with leg wounds last year that is what I would do. I only had a wound once since then. I fell over some boxes when I was packing to move and had a skin tear on my leg. I didn't call my Dr that time because I was going into the hospital for surgery the next day. I figured they would be able to help me. The wound care nurse came to my room and treated me about 1 hour after surgery.

Knit57 I see in your profile you listed Diabetic Neuropathy, do you have it now, if so does your surgeon know? I would definitely call my Dr, if this is the case, sooner than later!

Yes the surgeon knows. We talked about my diabeties on the 10th when he took the staples out of my ankle and changed the cast. I started getting concern because the one I can see and feel, is not getting any better.

Talked to the Dr. he isn't concerned. Said if the one I can see gets red or hot to call other wise just wait and see what happens! The nurse ask ME if I thought I needed antibotics or pain meds.

I do feel better a bout it. Will be so glad to get the hard cast off so I can see my foot and leave the house.
