The University of Michigan Integrative Medicine’s Healing Foods Pyramid™ was conceived by Monica Myklebust, M.D., and Jenna Wunder, M.P.H., R.D., in their passion for food in all of its beauty, variety and healing benefits.

The foods we choose to eat are essential to how we care for ourselves. In choosing the healing foods on this pyramid, each one of us contributes to our own health.

We emphasize:

Healing foods
Consume foods known to contribute to your health.

Plant-based choices
Choose minimally processed plant foods that are known for their health benefits.

Variety and balance
Fill your plate with whole grains, healthy fats, and a colorful array of fruits and vegetables every day.

Support of a healthful environment
Select foods that have been produced without harming our planet.

Mindful eating
Truly savor, enjoy, and focus on what you eat.

Good information. Definitely my emphasis except, like Graylin, I need to do something other than the usual grains because what they do to me. I've found others to substitute though, so just eat more unusual grains.

Thanks for the link Mays. Very good info.
But Yikes!!! on the grains, they don't play well with me. How I wish I was a more normal person. Life would be so much simpler then.
