blood suars can be high in the moring cause liver releases sugar at nighti used to have issues with this at first after weight loss and being put on metforin this problem seem to disppear. i usally eat something before i go to bed every night it has nothing to do with what you eat before you go to bed at night. iwas told this by my nutrionist.

I too am new to this found out 6 months ago
I too am a t2. Figuring out what we can eat is hard I have found out that oranges raise my levels a bunch not saying you can't eat them but maybe not before bed and is easy to over do it on grapes cuz they are so good so easy does it. Good luck

Welcome to DC.
Testing testing and more testing will show you what and how much you can eat.
Grapes, oranges and bananas raise my BG. I can eat an apple with no rise. So I determined the amount of an orange or number of grapes I could eat without causing a rise. Bananas ar a big no-no for me.
The best bet is to test your BG before you eat a food item, then test at 30 minute intervals for about 2 to 3 hrs to see what your BG levels are. Tha will tell you how your body handles any particuar food item.
Some people will have a rise overnight because their body needs a snack to keep their misbehacing system under better control. A little carb and proteinsnack is all some people need. For some it is a few nuts, others use a cracker and peanut butter.
