Sorry to hear that and it's good you are trying to eat better. A1C is for the three months average, so I guess your numbers were not great going into the holidays. I'll bet alot of us indulged and had our sugar level rise, but it's a new year, so time to get on track for a healthier you:) Maybe if you ate small portions and spread the meals out (6or7) instead of big meals of the things you shouldn't eat so much of, just a suggestion. Kind of like when you say no candy, but then you know you really want it. Whereas eating a bite or two solves the craving. Does that make sense? Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Sorry to hear you A1c and BG are up, but you have had some significant stressors in your life, as well as some travel and good things. Those all tend to push the BGs up. Hope VA's changes will do it for you.

I think many of us overdid the last couple of weeks of 2011, probably because we were so glad to see it over with and have high hopes for 2012.

Tom I can say I didn't over do it over the holidays. I did eat properly and even had cake. My numbers didn't change and I didn't gain any weight thankfully. I am eventually going to get into a Lady Gaga outfit one day…lol.

Now you are showing our age with that term…Peace Out.
Its funny how those come and go.
I am thankful you are turning yourself around.
We can not let the Holidays tear us down
and you know that
I just say that to remind you next year to be different.
I hope you can right yourself so as not
to suffer other things like kidney failure.
Prepare your snacks so you stand as strong as you can be
and not just swayed by the wind
fooled into thinking only a little won't hurt.
Let us know your future successes
I am sure you will have them…bro (now there's another one that ages us!)
