Interesting material. I'm taking B6 in a neuro-vascular preparation that I like.

The headline of the actual article says the FDA is SEEKING to ban the sale of B6 (except as a Rx medication). Do you have follow-up information indicating this has happened?

I have searched the FDA website and there is no mention of that particular decision. The Life Extension and the Body Builder communities seem to be upset over this, but as far as any official announcement or press release from the FDA, nothing. I have been searching for over a half hour and nothing except rumblings and protest letters from life extension and Body builders to the White house and FDA.

FDA did ban Pyridoxamine because a Pharmaceutical company wanted it as a prescription drug. (To charge a premium price) It was being sold cheaply as a suppliment… Now no one gets it till FDA gives approval which some state will never happen or could take decades at the least

Strange. My purchase of it was in the last week. When was it banned?

Phil, these articles are 2nd or 3rd hand and may be INTERPRETATIONS of what someone THOUGHT happened. I would RATHER see an actual notification of decision or press release, or letter from the FDA. I have looked in their website, and used their search engine and there is no such decision or letter or press release that I was able to find in over 30 min of searching last night. Even the Wikipedia footnotes, which I had hoped would take me to the "smoking gun" but to no avail.

Until I see the actual "smoking gun" I think that the title of this post is IMO sensationalized, alarmist and inaccurate.

There are 3 different types of B-6 Pyridoxal, Pyridoxine and Pyridoxamine, third one is the one baned and suppose to be most effective on Kidney.

Those are similar. I shall have to check my bottle's label again to be sure. I've lost my glasses and am having a really hard time with the fine print. No new glasses till after the 20th, but I'll try today when I have natural light. (It's still dark here in Hawaii.)
