Why don't you or your doc see if it's a possibility for you?

I'm going to ask him about it on my next visit. It is not something I would wish for anyone to go through. I even get to where I am not hungry and literally have to force myself to swallow food. I mean I can go for a few days and not even think of food because the hunger pains are not there as you are still full from the food not going down. However; because of doing insulin, I have to eat.

Oh, Darlene, that sounds terrible. I'm so sorry about the pain and discomfort and how much harder with you husband being a chef!! Makes me want to cry.

You know, I really do love food and just watching him at work amazes me. He is so afraid I won't eat that he makes several days worth of meals for me, as if I don't know how to make cereal, haha. But I do understand you as my friends are so envious and are always asking for doggie bags. I think I will go to bed now as it is 11:21 here and my hubby is home and I am tired:0 Good night

Good morning, he actually is the best. Who would have thought meeting him when I was 16 would be the man of my dreams. Well, actually when I saw him I knew we would marry! ( ok, school girl wishing) Here we are over 30 yrs later. I gotta go, as he is taking me out, but I'll be back.

Beautiful! I love to hear that relationships actually work out like that. I've felt so privileged to share my love with Wayne over all these years and, because of being in the counseling field, realize there are SO many that don't. Cherish it.

It is so unfortunate that not everyone has what you and I have. My friends ask how we do it, and I just tell them that you evaluate any tense situation and work it out. I know now days when it gets tough for people they up and divorce because it is so easy to do:( My single female friends keep telling me they want my husband or one just like him, haha. Our running joke is that we won't divorce as neither one wants to have the kids full time, so we'll just stay together. Our kids are 17, 25, 28, &29!

Thanks for being there and I actually emailed the info to my dr and hope he has info for me when my appt rolls around.

Sure hope the trial works for you.

Yes, we are lucky in our relationships. I, too, would wish this happiness for everyone.

Good info, but I just checked for gastroparesis that Carol and I have talked about, and unfortunately there isn't a trial where I live listed. I even put in the max miles with no luck:( Oh well, I'll keep trying to find something.

Sure…the more information, the better.

I was looking for something else when I stumbled into that information earlie and thought I'd share it because I had heard a couple people mention it when I started talking about gluten intolerance.

very intersting! Not quite sure I have gastroparesis, but I suspect I may have it at the beginning stages or intermittently if that's possible. I may have to do more research on gastro. I probably should go to my Dr and ask him too.

Hi, I have gastroparesis and it isn't fun. When I eat, my food stays at the top and doesn't go down like it should. This causes bloating, discomfort/pain and a few bites and you are full and you don't use the bathroom like you should. I have GERD which my Cardiologist found when haveing a cardiac cath done, so the gastro causes problems with the GERD. In order to see if I had Gastroparesis I had to have an endoscopy. Due to diabetes, the nerves in your stomach start to not work, so they don't signal for food to move down and out. I was put on Reglan for it and it helps, but it has nasy side effects. I developed the twitching and had to come off of it. The dr said that is the strongest medicine in the US and he would have to get me meds from Canada and is getting approval from my insurance for it.

thank you. I am due to have a endoscopy and colonoscopy in the near future. I'll have to ask my Gastro Doc about it.

You are welcome. I had both test done due to the reasons I listed above. For anyone who is going to have these test, don't worry as you'll be asleep and won't have to feel embarassed and it doesn't take long. My dr gave me pictures of my test so I would understand my diagnosis better. Ask your dr if he does the same and good luck:)

I have already had both proceedures before and the endoscope another time more. I just hate the prep for the colo. I think that is why I am delaying turning over the note from my renal Dr to my Gastro Dr. I know i gotta get it done.

You are welcome. I had both of those test done because of the symptoms I mentioned above. For anyone who has to have these test, don't worry as you'll be asleep and won't have to deal with being embarassed and it isn't painfull and doesn't take long. The prep for the colonoscopy is the worst part, and that is bathroom trips:(
My dr gave me pictures from my test to show what was found, so I would understand the diagnosis. Ask your dr if he does the same, and good luck:)

Thought it might be interesting to you and the one other person I've recently heard mention it. I'll have to go check who it was … don't recall but it's on my recent posting about gluten intolerance.

I looked this up. The other person was Dianna (Lizard). I sent her a message last night. Don't know if she is still here or not. She said she was leaving, but she said that in another message 2 months ago, so I thought I'd take a chance and let her know this information was here.
