Wisconsin Diabetics?

Are there any Wisconsin diabetics that would be interested in helping to drive legislation to get the state of Wisconsin to include medicine dependent diabetics in BadgerCare+ or other program?

In the recent downturn of our economy, many diabetics have become unemployed and lost their insurance. Let's face it - COBRA is not an affordable, or viable option to the average family. Put yourself in their shoes for a minute, it's not a pretty picture; knowing your blood sugar is sky-high and you cannot afford test strips, doctor's visits, or insulin. Or ask whether you should buy heating oil or insulin this month?

Government will give over a trillion dollars of your tax dollars away to bail out irresponsible mega corporations this year. They can no longer say that we cannot afford health care to those who need it. If you are interested in forming a coalition in Wisconsin, please let me know - I'd love to see this happen.

I am in Wisconsin and I'm not sure what I can do as I'm not sure how this all works but I'd be willing to assist in anyway I can.

Thanks Judy! Now there are two of us :) which is a start! I am busy this weekend, but will try to grow the idea through other diabetes/health care forums & blogs. It may take awhile to get things going - but I have experience in this area…
