My son was diagnosed with Type 1 at age 2 last May. Definitely a lot of craziness in the learning process. My son has been blessed with great doctors along with an amazing and supportive medical team. Trying to get involved in a support group for him, his sibling and myself. I'm feeling very weighed down from of being misunderstood by those in my life who don't understand what is going on. I'm glad they're there, but we need people in our lives who understand.

Hello Christin. Welcome to DC. You've certainly come to the right place for understanding. This is a tough disease to deal with as an adult, so I understand your feelings of distress for your son. But we are here to provide you with as much support as you need. It may seem strange at first, but the care, empathy and prayers that you will receive are given with the utmost sincerity. Please don't hesitate to ask us about what ever is on your mind because we are a community of thousands. So there is usually someone here who can relate to your situation. Be blessed.

People who understand is right Christin! WELCOME to DiabeticConnect! This place is a great place for getting inspiration, information and comfort. There is nothing like having folks who just "get it" brcause they live with it too.

support groups both online and in my community has been the only thing that has kept me together! I too have a fabulous medical team but there is nothing like families who are actually experiencing it.
