I just wanted to let y'all know that things are working out better for me as the week goes on. I am eating regularly, testing regularly and taking my insulin at the same times for the past 3 days and I seem to be smoothing out. That is the first bit of good news.

I feel a lot better about night time/sleeping. I have been snacking at bedtime. More of a smart snack, with protien and I think that is helping. I am curious about the glucerna shakes and wonder if anyone else has used them at bedtime to regulate overnight sugars.

Lastly, things seem to be working out with my boyfriend. Someone wisely said to me on here that with diabetes there will be times when there are emergencies or something to that effect. He is blaming my drinks on my trip to the ER and is even more supportive of my no drinking policy. Not that I had any doubt, but it's good to have support. We are working through this rough patch and I think he and I are actually stronger for it. Neither on of the things I thought would happen did, so I'm really happy about that.

Talk to you all soon, and thanks again for all the great advice and support!

i have had the bars before shakes are ok but expensive glucerna stuff. i eat the bars for breakfast 2 times a week the yogurt rasian ones these have 70 cal 12 grams per bar. chocolate peanut ones these have 80cal 12 carbs per bar. glad things are going better for you.those boxes of bars have 8 in them per a box. i buy them at walmart.

Sounds good. I have not ever tried glucerna because I heard it does not taste good. I rather use my calories eating something that stays with my vs liquid anyway. You will feel more confident and controlled if you keep with these habits you are developing. Glad the sailing is a lot smoother!
