Okay guys maybe you can help me understand this a little more. Most of you know I visited the Mayo Clinic early December well the antibodies results Endo said were high 432 to be exact and then explained that NORMAL people are at about 0.02 meaning they don't have any I guess. Once this honeymoon period is over and pancreas decides to leave me alone altogether he said I will need more insulin. Oh he also said to go ahead and get the Medic Alert bracelet, so I ordered a CUTE one. In feel like I am being tagged or identified don't want that. Any thoughts or experience with this antibodies results in English please!!!! Lol

I was diagnosed as a diabetic 3 months ago. Unfortunately they just treated me like a type 2 for the first couple of months even though I had type 1 symptoms. The specialist finally did a test that confirmed it was LADA. I've been on Metforim & Diamicron which has been upsetting my stomach. Also harder to control BSL. I'm changing to insulin next week. So still learning all the ins & outs. If you are LADA & BG's are increasing then you should see your specialist as you may need to move to insulin.

I was diagnosed 4 months ago in the emergency rm with Type 2, but was put on insulin immediately, Lantus only. A few weeks later changed Drs and peptide results indicated T1. I have been on Lantus and novolog since then. I am on a sliding scale and was doing fine until December. I am still doing somewhat okay, but my honeymoon period seems to be ending, so BGs go up some days and then other days I am good. I still have pretty bad lows when my pancreas decides to work like today I was fine before dinner was at 167 so I corrected with 2 novolog units am at 1 to 30 ratio with chicken and no carbs for dinner. That was at 6:00 pm by 7:20 I suddenly felt weird was at 48 with that awful cold sweat and nervousness suddenly upon me. I think it's my pancreas that causes this extreme, sudden drops cuz when I am going low gradually I feel it. I don't feel these and that sometimes scare me. I needed insulin for all 3 meals today makes me real sad! I was diagnosed on August 17 at the emergency rm. Will never forget this day so you were right behind me? Good luck. Keep us updated.

Thank God I found some people that can relate!!! I was originally diagnosed type 2 brittle, then somewhere along the line a C-Peptide was run, and it showed I am barely type 1, or LADA, then, the test came up lost…OH, the frustrations. I tested positive for antibodies…what does that mean, does anyone know? What does that mean that I tested positive for antibodies? I thought it meant a good thing, as in , my body produces a lot of fighting antibodies, but apparently I was wrong or something…can anyone help me with that termonology? ANNE

I think what this means is that we are LADA and we are Type I when my Dr said my antibodies were not only high but increasing that meant my honeymoon period is almost over. I have seen a bit of an increase with insulin and some days even of things haven't changed in routine or diet my BGs seem to run high. The antibodies are high for us and normal people dont really have them, mot sureif you read, but my count was 432, and the norm is 0.02. I am still trying the median with exercise, diet and trying ot toilet stress affect my life too much! Good luck and I have invited you to be my friend.

It sounds like you are LADA Type 1.5 which is your auto immune system shutting down your pancreas. Which is what is happening to me.

Thank you so much and in plain language. This is very helpful to me. So at what point are you and are you able to manage this. I thought I was doing well and all of a sudden BGs are going haywire experiencing more highs these days so pancreas is giving out then once in a while it spurts out enough insulin to give me a low!!!!!! Good luck and this have sent you an invitation to be my friend
