I just read a article on protien and carbs. the article stated that if you eat protien with carbs, the protien carries the carbs longer in your body because protien takes longer to digest. Cool! the artcile also stated that protien can make you feel fuller longer. I am all for that! any one else know any thing about this concept?

Yes, this is the most basic rule you should have been told by your doctor and dietitian. When you eat you must balance it out with protein and fat. I go for minimum 7g of protein and 5g fat per 15g of carb, you will need to work out what's best for you.

This is one of the basics of food pairing. This concept is why Dreamfields Pasta is so great for diabetics. It is coated in fiber and that slows the absorbtion of the sugars into your blood. Very cool solution to a huge problem we have when we eat processed grains.

This is also why people suggest eating a piece of cheese with a cracker or peanutbutter with your fruit. Those proteins slow down the sugar absorbtion.
