Howdy J1990j! WELCOME to DiabeticConnect! Sorry you qualify for inclusion in our "little" family, but since you do, I am glad you're here! This is a great place for support, inspiration and some information.

Have you tried your county health department? If they don't have a program for you, then ask if they know of such programs to assist you in obtaining supplies for your diabetes.

Here is a search of DC discussions about free supplies. It comes up quite often here. Click on the link here ~ take a look and see if any of these discussions tell you ways to get supplies which may work for you.

I also would have asked you if you have called or contacted the folks who make your meter, but I see alan has already suggested that to you

I pray something works for you

To your better health

You can write or call the people who make your meter and ask if they have a program for low income on there strips. Also try Dept. of social services.

Sweetie…I have no idea…that cost the most of everything…You can get lots if things at WalMart. But test stripes are 39.95. Which is alot to me. If you hear anything let me know

Jacquelyn, If that is roughly $40 per 100 strips it is pretty reasonable. For the meters which commonly give out "free" meters, the cost could be up to $1.50 PER STRIP or TEST. Usually the strip or test hovers around $1.00+ per test with such meters.
