I just visited your website…really nice. I am going to order the charm bracelet. I want to add the charm to my medical alert bracelet. I also added you to my favorites.

Any groups that get the word out about Diabetes, I am all for. Educate me, why blue? Is it to match the blue circle?

Thank you for asking pixsidust…Blue has become to represent diabetes in many different context's. Yes, the Blue Circle is one one that appears to be the most used & has it's roots in the IDF, and has also started to garner support in many places online.

Allow me to offer another fact about the color Blue & it's relation to diabetes. Prior to BG Meter's of course, testing was done using urine, and back in the 1930-40'ish time, there was a solution used in Testing, might be called "Benedicts"? that turned one of three colors (or stayed the same) based on the presence of glucose in the urine. Green meant good, Yellow was a bit high, and Red indicated somewhere in the 300's or so.

Here's where Blue comes in…That was the color of the solution itself, so if indeed the result was any shade of blue, BGL was ok…TM
