… seven Swans a swimming.

On the seventh day the lover sends seven swans. Throughout history swans have been associated with royalty and the swan is often used on royal symbols and other decorations. Swans are also found in myths and folk tales dealing with love.

Oh, thank goodness, not another food bird! LOL

I know when I think of swans I see the regal bird but they don't start out that way if we all recall the ugly duckling story.

So in that venue, I see how we are as we are learning to deal with our diabetes. It is often ugly in the beginning and so confusing, but we certainly grow into beautiful people who are able to help each other grow to be strong and beautiful people who just happen to have diabetes.

Nice analogy, Gabby. Ugly duckling of diabetes grows into the beautiful swan of a more healthy person. Good visual, too.

Yep, and I know it is true for so many of us. I have become healthier since finding out I was diabetic. How ironic, but beautiful.

I know when I started here trying to figure out how to make my life make sense with diabetes, this site made all the difference in the world to me. I am not a swan yet, but at least I'm a swimmin'
