Yes, I take Metaprolol for high blood pressure , and the emergency room physician that gave it to me said it is also known to help preserve beta cell function in the pancreas…it helps me …I've been taking it for about 2 years…ANNE

Welcome to DC. Sorry you feel so down. Your pic mad me sad for you.
I wish I had words of wisdom for you, but I have not noticed any changes with my bp meds changing my bs. I don't know if it is because I was on bp meds first or if it is the type, but i have not had any changes.
I hope you get some help. This is a good place to be for knowledge and support. WE have lots of wonderful people who care and just want to help.
God Bless, Mickey

had you seen the discussion from not too long ago, Mickey, about the side effects of many meds which can raise or lower one's BG levels. You could read the discussion in the 2nd link in my reply to Brandy below.

Howdy Brandy!

WELCOME to DiabeticConnect! (sorry you qualify for inclusion in our "little family", but am glad you are here among us.)

Medications in general can affect our Blood Glucose (BG) levels either positively or negatively. Here is a link ~ http://www.dlife.com/diabetes/type-2/diabetes... ~ found in a discussion about the side effects of drugs. (http://www.diabeticconnect.com/discussions/13... )

Here something I found through a google search

praying you and yours have a blessed Christmas
