As many of you know, I am always searching for self help outside the box. Last night I watched a DVD with my hubby that a friend gave us. She also gave us the book "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay. She was trying to help us change the tendency to speak negatively about things in general.
The principal is that if you have negative self talk, you get negative life experiences. But as you change your self talk to positive affirmations, then your life will attract those types of life experiences. Not to say it is without challenge, but keeping positive is so vital to experience a truly happy life. There are hundreds of similar teachings out there, but I thought I would get serious about giving this one a try.
Here are some samples of Affirmations to say to ourselves to help us over come different things in our lives. It will sound weird at first, but the author encourages us to do it in a mirror and talk to ourselves, face to face. Then as we grow, to gain the emotions to back it up and soon we will find we are taking steps that are in sync with our affirmations. Kind of cool! Can't hurt to give it a try.
Probable Cause: Anger you feel you do not have a right to have. Hopelessness
Affirmation: "I now go beyond the other people's fears and limitations. I create my life"
Problem: Hip Problems
Probable Cause: Fear of going forward in major directions. Nothing to move forward to.
Affirmation: "I am in perfect balance. I move forward with ease and with joy at every age."
Problem: Hyperglycemia Mellitus
Probable Cause: Longing for what might have been. A great need to control. Deep sorrow. No sweetness left.
Affirmation: "This moment is filled with joy. I now choose to experience the sweetness of today."
Probable Cause: Overwhelmed by the burdens in life. What's the use?
Affirmation: "I now choose to make my life light and easy and joyful."
Probable Cause: Irritation, anger and annoyance
Affirmation: "I choose to be peaceful and harmonious."
Well, the list goes on…it is huge and covers all kinds of things.
NOW, I am not saying do this and ignore your doctor or stop meds. I am not saying that this is a CURE for your diabetes. It is just a way to keep a positive thought process when you are dealing with some of the harder knocks that life throws our way.
