Pumpers!!! beware!! I didn't realize how bad the situation was unit l i checked my sugars and boom!!! spent the rest of the day trying to get them back down to normal levels!! still trying but here's what happened!!
Last night i went to bed late enough , my sugars were not too bad but the next morning i woke up to go to the toilet and when this usually happens i have my pump tucked into my bottoms or in my pocket!! but in anyways , when i looked down i suddenly realized that something was missing, and sure enough it was my lil companion and then it hit me it must have detached during the night!!! so after I got him hooked up again i checked my sugars and my jaw hit the floor when I realized they were sky high ( i mean completely rocketed past Mary Poppins and her brolly)
so i spent the rest of the day testing and retesting and my point is . . . ..
make sure your pump is nicely attached before hitting the sack !!!

Ohh the stress levels are mighty now and i have a tone of college work to get through!!! silly pump!!

I'm a type 1 as well. Try this, get some velcro strips and attach them to your pokets. You can sew thim on, even if you think you don't know how to sew, or get the ones that have the adhesives. This works great as it can be closed up to the tubing. If you don't have pockets, try using an Ace bandage, the soft streatchy one, you can put the pump where comfy and then wrap the bandage around it and body part and it will stay in place. Also, you can order a phone case that fits your pump and that clips to your belt or pants and clip it on your night clothed. These all work:)

I hope these help you, and hope your doing better. Bright side, the pump didn't fall off and into the toilet!

Your so welcome, let me know how it works for you. Oh, hope the studying is going well, I have a 17 yr old in college that I have to get up to do her studying as well. I know she was up until 4am, so I"m letting her sleep in today, no classes:) She isn't a diabetic, thankfully.

So happy you got it finished and on a topic we know too well. Anytime on the advice, just ask me and if I haven't experienced it, though highly doubt it since I have had it for soooo long, I'll help find an answer:)

I am not on the pump but after reading your post I got to thinking what I would do if I was. Sounds funny but those sports bras seem to keep things in place LOL, I am not poking fun at you but it seems that pockets are ok but things fall out of the pockets, so I would try anything that helps.

Haha, you have never slept in a bra before, don't care what the style, they are not comfy!!! Actually that was a good suggestion:)

No I haven't but when I was overweight it looked like I needed one. Lost a lot of weight and am looking ok. :)

Those little fellas are vital that is for sure and we need never take them for granted. I am glad that you found yours and got it taken care of. This is also an issue with making sure your batteries are current and working and that your insert site is, well, inserted. All kinds of little things can go wrong, so always double check your buddy.

Dear Roshy,
I've sewn pockets into the inside of my nighties. I've made them of stretchy material so the pump fits in snuggly…I'm still trying to find the best location because I'm a pretty restless sleeper. Right now, I've got them on various sides of the upper torso close to the neck and shoulder. I read here that one pumper buys t-shirts with pockets and wears them inside out and uses the pocket for his pump…I thought that was pretty clever! I've only been pumping since August but, so far, no problems with detaching at night. I'm loving the pump experience!

hi lou!

Thanks for the advice! i havent been pumping too long myself, i only started in July. This had never happened to me before either so i was really shocked when i looked at my meter and seen the massive effect it had on my bg's. Im always afriad of putting it in my pocket while im sleeping incase i roll over it and end up breaking it!! im one of those sleepers who spends the night tossing and turning!! Im actually surprized it only happened once to me before!! Ill just have to try alternative ways like you suggest to make sure this doesnt happen again for a long time!!!
Thank you again for your advice!!

Hey Roshy! I too roll over a lot. It doesn't seem to bother the pump but I sometimes become aware of it during the night…I don't know if it actually wakes me or I notice it because I wake up frequently anyhow. I can't remember the last night I slept well. I'm thinking of trying to position my next pocket in the center of my upper torso…you know, where there is a "natural cleft" for it to settle into. I'll let you know how/if that works.
