Is there any body else out there that suffers from not being able to sleep night after night regardless of what your Dr has tried you on. If so has anything worked for you. I really need to get some good rest(sleep)

yes, there i also have had sleep problems in the past myself, there is one medication that really helped me called chloral hydrate it is low cost and works well within about 8 minutes of taking it since it comes in a gel capsule it disolves quickly after taking it and leaves you refreshed the next morning you will have to ak your doctor about it. good luck with your sleep getting better soon.

Hi,
I have had insomnia for my entire adult life. I am 45. I take amitriptylene every night and it works!!!take at least 100 mgs-150 mg.s this is a prescribed medication. It is generally used for people to sleep due to pain. Mine is because I am in pain due to my back… It's the only way I can rest at all… I have tried just about everything. It has been my lifesaver. I have my life back!
I hope that things work out. I know how terrible it can be to be awake for days…
Your Friend, Leigh

I take Tylenol PM if in extra pain and Ambien if not. I also have a CPAP machine and there are still nights I don't sleep.

I used to sleep in shifts. 1 hour here, 1 hour there. Told my doctor and because of my pain meds I cannot take the usual suspects so he prescibe !/2 valium at night. It allows me to sleep 4-5 hours. and I do not have the next day "drowsies" with this. Hope that offered some suggestion for your doctor.
