It has been about a month since my diagnosis. I have been taking metformin, counting carbs, and working out. I have been eating a very healthy diet and trying to only eat "good carbs" whenever possible. However, I have become obsessed with pizza, and almost want to cry when I see it on TV because I can't handle it. I can't eat just one piece, and I'm really afraid of going crazy and doing what I used to do before diabetes. After an entire month like this, I finally made a small individual, thin-crust pizza. The crust had 40 grams of carbs and I only put a tiny amount of sauce and cheese. This does fit my eating plan,but I'm feeling guilty. I'm waiting to see how it has affected my blood sugar. Do you struggle with this too? Is there a food that you feel like you can't handle but that you miss terribly?
