As I read through the daily posts I always come across great food suggestions, tips for controlling BG levels and other helpful hints. I would love to be able to remember theml but iif I try to track them all, my discussion tracker would probably malfunction. It would be a great help, to those of us who are still learning the ropes, if the rest of the community could let us know what you found to work, or not, for you. What foods/beverages, supplements, stress releivers, informative websites, or advice any in general, that you think would help those of us who are trying to get into the swing of things. What do you know now, that you wish you knew then?

#1 Attend a diabetics education class #2 Get a meal plan designed for you by a dietican do these and you are well on your way to controlling your diabetes. #3 Keep a journal of what, how much and when you eat along with when and what your BG was. This will help you to learn what foods affect you and how. This journal when presented to your dr will also help them to get a clear picture of how to help you.
As for supplements and natural remedies I have been doing a lot of research for a couple of months. The list of claimed helpers is huge to large to list here.
#4 When you find something in the discussions that you want to keep you can copy and paste them into a word document, then add to it as you go. Many people post the links for the sites they are sharing.
Now go for a walk the exercise is good for you…LOL

Thanks Mary for the pointers. Too dark to walk by myself but I did get a stroll in earlier today. I hear what you are saying about the word document but that isn't always an option because I log in from computers other than my own, sometimes. But will do when I am on mine. I have already been doing alot of what you have said but doesn't hurt to be reminded. Thanks again.

Your computer situation sounds much like mine PC.

I don't have internet in my apartment itself, but I do have access to a bank of 3 computers in the apt complex. These computers have no CD burners / readers in them but I can save documents on a "thumb drive" (aka "flash drive") which plugs into a USB port.

Whatever I want to save I save onto the thumb drive and then when I go back to my apartment I download it to my computers and save it there.

I always keep my thumb drive on my keyring so it is always with me. You can get a 4 GB thumb drive for between $10 and $20 most places.

Thanks James. I used to have a couple of flash drives but I had to relenquish them to my kids for school. But I will be picking up another one over the weekend. It's too bad too because the three that I had only cost me $4.99 apeice and had 3GB on each. I won't see another sale like that for a while. Glad to see you back on the airwaves. :)

It has been so long ago that I really have forgotten what the price I paid for mine.

Thank you PC, I will answer as I usually do when someone says someting like that to me at church: "It is good to BE seen!" LoL!

I figured out what I can do in the meantime. I can just copy and paste the page link to an email page and mail it to myself. Still getting that flash drive though. Thanks again.
