I just have to say that this year I have something additional to be thankful for. Over 5 years ago I had to have a hysterectomy. At that time I was a good weight. I eat a good diet with good portion control and exercised. Naturally, I couldn't exercise for a good while after the surgery. I wasn't eating much but since my husband was getting means I had to settle for what I got. So when I started putting on weight i wasn't real worried. I figured soon I'd be eating right and exercising again. That just what I did. To my dismay, I continued to gain weight. About 1 1/2 years later I'd gained about 70 pounds. No matter what I did I couldn't loose it. I saw a nutritionist but that did no good. I actually changed doctors 3 times! When I tried to explain my problem they'd all just sort of look at me like "what's your point.". Finally I went to a new doctor last June. On my first visit I told him about my problem in loosing weight and all I was doing to try to loose. To my shock, he closed the lap top, moved his chair in front of me and actually listened. Then he immediately said we would change my meds a bit I should start taking byetta. The first month I was on half dose. Then in July I began taking the full (10) dose. I gave Actually lost 24.5 pounds!!! Also my A1C is 6.2!!!!! Previous checkup it was 8.7. FINALLY! Thank you LORD and thank you Dr Dobrose!!!!!

I'm really happy for you, I mean REALLY, REALLY HAPPY!!! You see, I have the same problem. I can't lose weight for nothing. I have gradually gained weight the last few years and I am 70 pounds overweight. I need help bad. Now my body hurts all over & I feel bad mostly all the time. What is "Byetta" ? I will talk to my doctor about helping me before I burst.

Congratulations! I am happy that you finally found the help you needed. That is the lesson we all need to take to heart. We ALL are more in tuned to our bodies than any doctor. There is no reason to stay with a doctor that is doing a half-assed job in giving you the attention or care that you deserve. We need to start listenening to that little voice inside that says something isn't right, more often. I am so glad that you did and that you finally found the right doctor for you.

I'm glad you finally found a doc who would listen! It just amazes me how many times i hear how the doctors are just blowing people off and their concerns also! That is what they are there for! If they can't do their job, they don't deserve to have any patients! It's ridiculous!

I'm happy that you did not just settle, but kept looking until you found the right doc. I also have a doc who listens, and takes her time with you if you need it. And for us, that is something to be thankful for!

I wish you all the luck on your journey! God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
